Suzanne Vidal, born in the Bronx, New York, passed away peacefully on May 24th, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a devoted mother, passionate traveler, writer, photographer, and explorer whose warmth, curiosity, and adventurous spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was the beloved daughter of Edwin Grosso and Anne Guinan Grosso, who predeceased her in 2016. After a lifetime shaped by love, partnership, and shared adventure, Suzanne is now reunited with her husband, Nicolas Vidal, who also passed away earlier this year. Their bond and shared journey through life remained a defining source of love and meaning for her.
Suzanne is survived by her three daughters, Madeleine Vidal and her wife Kara Trent, Angelica Vidal, and Pia Vidal, who were the center of her world and the greatest source of her pride and joy. She also leaves behind her brothers, Ted Grosso and his wife Cheryl Grosso, and Andy Grosso, along with extended family and dear friends who will continue to cherish her memory.
A graduate of Wayland High School and Endicott College, Suzanne lived a richly diverse and international life, having resided in seven different countries. She embraced each chapter with openness and enthusiasm, guided by her favorite saying, “carpe diem”—seize the day. This philosophy was not just words to her, but a way of life reflected in her constant pursuit of new experiences, meaningful connections, and the beauty found in everyday moments.
Suzanne had a remarkable gift for storytelling through both writing and photography. Whether capturing images across her travels or documenting quiet moments with family, she brought creativity, humor, and heartfelt perspective to everything she did. Her work reflected a deep appreciation for the world and the people in it.
Above all, Suzanne’s greatest devotion was to her daughters. Her love, strength, curiosity, and compassion will continue to live on through them and all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
