Authorities in Hopkinsville are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of 19-year-old Jordan Jones on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Hopkinsville Police Department, the shooting occurred in the 1200 block of Walnut Street. Emergency responders arrived at the scene after reports of gunfire and discovered Jordan Jones suffering from a gunshot wound while inside a vehicle.
Payton Rogers stated that Jones sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest. Emergency personnel immediately began lifesaving measures before transporting him to Jennie Stuart Medical Center with CPR in progress.
Despite the efforts of first responders and medical staff, Christian County Coroner Scott Daniel later confirmed that Jordan Jones died from his injuries at the hospital.
